Los Angeles Unified School District has hired Microlink several times to document computer assets, verify software licenses, add, run, and remove clean-up tools and new applications. From staffing up or down to writing our own customer application to handle the many variables of the District's environment, Microlink, having worked on more than 100,000 District desktop's, has exceeded expectations time and time again.
Microlink's asset and reporting application and specific project activities are customized based on specific customer project requirements. | Asset Management - Microlink's customized Asset Documentation and Reporting application provides for the creation of an Excel or Access database of desktop and server assets including all Windows 98 or later and Mac 9.2 or later operating systems. Complete documentation of all installed hardware components and software by location. |
| Software Compliance - To help avoid costly software license liability issues, technicians work with company staff to document proof of legality (proof of purchase, certificate of authenticity, etc.) for all installed software on company premises. Non compliant software is removed prior to equipment being documented and labeled as compliant. |
| Patch Management - Managing patches requires a great deal of time to identify and monitor patch availability, ensure installation of patches, and maintain current version documentation of desktops and servers. Microlink's customized application and service plan takes the burden off of IT staff to ensure appropriate patches are installed and documentation is maintained.
